Unfortunately, this is attached to a must-pass Defense bill. Senators need to vote for an amendment to strip this passage from the bill.
It’s about the drug war; it’s about the war on terror; it’s about opportunistic authoritarians looking to seize power.
We are in more danger from those who take away our rights in the name of security than we are from terrorists and drug lords.

Indeed, the only way they’re going to get the message is if their predecessors get fired. But good luck with that, in reality most people subscribe to the “better the devil you know than the devil you don’t.” I’m not even sure that we’re going to be able to send Mr. Obama packing despite his throwing his most ardent supporters under the proverbial bus. I have more confidence, every day, that Ron Paul will be our next president, and soon thereafter, the federal war on drugs will be ended.
The DoJ is under the purview of the Executive Branch, Obama could order the AG to immediatelÂy stop investigatÂing and prosecutinÂg all non-violenÂt cannabis (or all drug) “offenses” freeing all those who are in or awaiting trial, but he has not done so. He can also disband the DEA and ONDCP, but he hasn’t. He could pardon all non-violenÂt drug “offenders” who are in or have already been released from incarceratÂion so they can regain their ability to get a good job (should there be any such jobs available — help Ron Paul get elected and there soon will be), but he hasn’t done that, either. And, tho I have not confirmed this yet (I haven’t had time to research, what with the holidays) I’ve heard he can throw out the CSA, but he hasn’t done that, either. All of the above is under the purview of the Executive Branch, he is the head of the Executive Branch so it IS under his purview and within his powers as president.
The above is what Ron Paul plans to do when he is elected (among other things he will ConstitutiÂonally do to restore our ConstitutiÂonal Republic and tho the ConstitutiÂon may be flawed, it’s a whole lot better than what we have now.).â€
One puppet substituting for another won’t do anything to change anything. Even if good ‘ole Ron Paul was to be elected (yeah right), you’d soon find that he’d either have way too much trouble changing anything, or he’d catch a bullet in the head (or equivalent means of removal). It seems that anyone who proposes and actually tries to enact the kind of changes that are truly needed in this world are forcefully removed from existence.
Humanity’s number one mistake was fooling itself into believing that people at the top of organized structures would be looking out for them. They don’t. They never have. They never will. Only sociopaths have what it takes to finagle their way up to the top positions in society be they private or governmental.

He needs to live long enough to restore the Republic and then long enough to show his policies work to garner the support of the majority of citizens in order to assure the restoration be as permanent as possible. Because if that doesn’t happen freedom is history in these united States of America. The bankers will have won and the rest will just be wage slaves with whatever arbitrary rules they desire at a whim ruling our lives completely. As someone else wrote once, “1984 was not supposed to be a manual.”
Just, for a few moments take note of how many new laws have been passed that have the effect of making us less free and in more danger from our own government than from any foreign agent (otherwise known as a “terrorist”*).
* wish I’d saved the post I read recently about how many things you are more likely to die from than a terrorist.

What with SOPA/PIPA, some local state issues, and now this, it’s shaping up to be a busy “write to your representative” month.

Do we need a revolution in this country? Perhaps. However, I think it will be sufficient to educate people within the intelligence and police communities, US citizens (the 99%) that the same people who were involved in the terrorist attacks of 9/11 and London 7/7 are the very same “usual suspects” who continue to fan the flames of the so-called “war on terror”, continue to push the Muslim boogie-man agenda; and are also the same groups of allied individuals who contrive intelligence on the “war on terror”, report on it in the MSM, profit from the “war on terror”, use DHS grants to spy on and criminalize those opposed to them, and propose and advocate legislation criminalizing the freedoms necessary to determine the identities of the criminal clique now using the terror construct to further the pillage of the planet, and further foster the global gulag.
I am of the opinion that the criminal syndicate calling itself a federal government is a “quaint concept,” and that it needs to go the way of the dodo, by whatever means necessary. And I do mean by WHATEVER MEANS NECESSARY.

I find it interesting that all 4 MD and VA Senators voted yes, and both of Alaska’s Senators were no shows. Stuck at home in the snow? Why don’t the Members have absentee ballots or proxies?
There needs to be a new political party, internet-based and local community oriented. Each community, every day, at 6PM or a designated meeting time, must have the chance to speak with their representatives at a ‘virtual’ town meeting. Alike the Occupations that are occurring, and their Daily General Assemblies. Imagine your whole town, met on a forum, daily, to discuss the issues with your politicians. If they do not show up for the meetings, the citizens can vote them out, and replace them with someone who IS there all the time.
This will ensure the accountability of our politicians, to be in touch with the people they are representing, which will allow us to voice our opinions as is necessary. Before they vote to approve any bills, they will have to achieve our approval as a group. If they cannot achieve a consensus, by these means, they are denied from being allowed to approve any new bill. If they pass such a bill, against the will of that group of citizens, they are ejected from office, and will immediately be replaced by a new candidate.
All Bills that are passed or discussions participated in by that member of congress/parliament should be published daily as a part of this new upgraded system. They say democracy is dead, but i think its just getting started. 😉
