Wow. I can hardly wait for the release date on this one by Paul Chabot.
He explains the importance of having a book like this…
In America, or abroad, we are seeing a rise in domestic groups destroying the moral fabric of communities through drug legalization, gangs, corruption and organized crime.
It takes a powerful lack of intelligence to put those in the same category, but make no mistake about it, Paul Chabot is up to the job.
Want proof? Hear what these luminaries have to say…
“An honest, clear account of what we need to know and do to make our families safer. Every citizen should read Paul Chabot’s guide for bringing more justice to our dangerous world.”
— Honorable John P. Walters, former White House Drug Czar“A factual masterpiece! Dr. Chabot pulls in the reader & gives them a mission you can’t say no to.”
— Calvina Fay, Executive Director, Drug Free America Foundation, Inc.“A courageous book by a courageous leader! Pray for our brave men and women who step forward and face this kind of terror beseeching God’s children.â€
— Dr. Bishop Ron Allen, Chairman, International Faith Based Coalition
Do Not like the moral issues talk I’m hearing from this one and many others.
Do Not care for anyone mentioning God. My religion, or not, is none of their frakking business.
When these types finally go down, by their own making, it will be a glorious day and long-overdue.
Interestingly, Dr. Chabot apparently does not believe his battle can be won otherwise he wouldn’t call it eternal.
I thought money was the root of all evil.
When I first saw the cover illustration, I thought it was one of those Onion-esque satirical ones based on real movie posters.
It would seem that the ‘beam-in-the-eye’ flaw inherent in all prohibs is manifested once again. But then again, Dr. Chabot is quite intimate with spookery…and spookery has been very busy throughout its’ entire history in facilitating the drug trade. And it still is.
So…it’s not a plank sticking out of his eye, but a syringe loaded with whatever his spook bretheren were dealing in at the time.
The higher the (morality) horse ridden, the steeper the fall and the greater the injury. The prohibs just never seem to understand they’re joined at the wallet with the cartels…by their own choice.
I hope it’s illustrated so his readers can make it through the whole thing.
Huh, I didn’t know that terror could earnestly beg to god’s children. Aren’t they supposed to grant alms anyways? I’m a bit confused regarding that word usage but then again, Ron Allen’s choice of words are often quite confusing. (Side note: I… loath Ron Allen. Seriously, I don’t loath too many public figures but he’s up there.)
Sad thing is, I know people who will buy this sort of book, read it, and then proceed to nod sagely at the wisdom of it all. So I guess I now have to read it as well; because I mocked it I’d feel like a hypocrite if I didn’t. Not to worry, I’m 100% sure this will be in my local library soon enough.
I’ll wait for the Movie.

holy shit… literally.
Evangelical sado-moralists with a messianic simplex… if it weren’t so damn sad it would be funny. Legalization ranks ahead of “gangs, corruption and organized crime.” Crikey mates! That’s a crock!
I may have to go sit in a book store and have one of them fancy coffees and peruse this literary marvel. If worthy of a full read I’ll get it from the library. Hopefully enough of y’all will read it and synopsize it for us first… I suspect I’d rather have a tooth pulled than read it.
I’ve already read it. Here’s my synopsis: “drugs are bad mmm-kay?”
Book Report, Please! Give us more!
I would rather have a hurting tooth not pulled than read through this while book.
Wow, what a coincidence. Darkcycle and I were just discussing pantywaists and milquetoasts in an earlier thread.
…and let’s not forget that “Bishop” Allen is a self anointed bishop. I guess it could be worse, he could have dubbed himself pope.
*GIGGLE* When I saw the endorsements I thought this was a joke. This is clearly aimed at evangelicals and the Christian Right….dog whistle my rectum, just look at the cover, that’s a clear: “COME HERE FIDO!”
“Honorable†John P. Walters? When did that happen? The only honor owed to Walters is a traditional last cigarette before he’s mowed down by a firing squad consisting of family members of his dead victims.
Cartel members will certainly appreciate reading Paul Chabot’s book. His insights will give them all a big heads-up concerning any allegedly new strategies for taking out their organizations.
As with all drug war strategies, the cartels will now adopt effective counter-strategies to Chabot’s schemes well before Chabot and his fellow prohibitionist losers can implement them.
i’ll bet a million bucks there’s nothing in that book i haven’t read hundreds of times already.
I needed a good laugh today. Thanks, Pete.
i just wanna see what he’s saying about us… altho’… if his arguments are sound I may cross over.
Yeah, initially seeing the cover and the endorsers, I thought, “This is something the people over at The Colbert Report concocted up,” but after the initial amusement turned to bemusement, I ended up just feeling dirty. It’s as though, instead of finding satire, one opens the book and finds a bunch of pics of hardcore donkey porn. Blech.
Oh. I second that. ECCCHH!
….and I’ll bet he doesn’t once address the scourge of equasy and it’s association with donkey porn.
Just another shovel of dirt on the coffins of the arts of sarcasm and parody.
You cannot parody these people, Duncan. Nothing is outrageous to outrage.
Indeed. It is mind boggling to me that such critters actually exist.
Earlier this evening I had a horrid experience. I accidently picked up the land line and ended up speaking with a guy soliciting donations for “The Partnership at Drugfree.org”. I told the man, “you’ve got the wrong fucking number, no doubt” and hung up. The most disturbing part was that he asked for me by name.
The Feds are raiding dispensaries in Spokane today. Hope you’ve kept your head low DC.
I’m lower than dirt, Duncan, just ask anybody.
Perhaps it is mere coincidence or devilish deed, but I just received the latest video blog from Ethan Nadelmann. It in, Ethan also speaks of a long struggle, but with the same evangelical fervor and enthusiasm of Paul Chabot et al. He emplores those in positions of influence; Nobel laureates; titans of industry; sports and entertainment celebrities, to stand up and say Enough! Of course he’s only speaking of marijuana, with just the slightest of nuance toward the more fundamental and important problem: drug prohibition in its entirety.
This strategy of focusing just on cannabis (and weighted heavily on medicinal use, the smallest segment of the consuming crowd), while our opponents continue their full-throttle assualt against all drugs on every front, is the primary reason drug policy reform is moving at a glacial pace. And if cannabis is ever legalized – still a very big if – moving onto the larger issue of removing prohibitions from all drugs will be made even more difficult. We will be shouted at, and likely shouted down, for using marijuana as a Trojan Horse – something our opponents, and most of us, know to be true. Good luck with that ad campaign, Ethan.
The argument that the American public is just not ready to have the larger debate on repealing drug prohibition is no longer valid, and hasn’t been for some time. Countries like Portugal and the Netherlands provide a time-tested template for commonsense drug policy. Do our reform leaders really believe citizens of those countries are better, more capable of restraint in the face of drug temptation, than American citizens?
Implicit in Ethan’s video message, and explicit on the email it came in, is the need for more money. Money is very important. But how it’s spent is more so. Ethan ends his video thanking one and all again for their hard work, signing off with “Let’s make 2011 special.” What would make 2011 special is for Ethan et al. to focus more on repealing all drug prohibitions and less on giving President Obama a pass.
If memory serves me well, our drug policy reform leaders did a pretty good job of attacking George W. personally for the failures of the drug war. And while our leaders have tagged Obama with a shot or two, they’ve mostly been with a velvet glove. Time to take the gloves off, and let’s make it special.
Why does Mr. Edelman get paid so much more than Rob Kampia and Allen St. Pierre? Not that I begrudge him his salary but it’s like 4x Rob Kampia an Allen St. Pierre.

Hmm, it actually seems to me that he’s taken a paycut. IIRC he was getting $240k the last time I looked. But that may have been as long as 2 years ago so I may just be not recalling the correct number. I also recall NORML being listed but its not there any more.
Hmm, Rob’s salary is a higher percentage to organizational expenses that Ethan’s.

I’m still thinking we should be tough with Barry by doing our best to have him replaced by Gary.
why are any of them being paid? it certainly isn’t for job accomplishments.
I just went over and perused the guy’s website. The dominant theme: “Content coming soon”. This guy is gunning for a drug war career, maybe a bigger appointment.
“This guy is gunning for a drug war career, maybe a bigger appointment.”
My take: he’s another Robert Weiner (advance to 10:11), a forever understudy wanting to pee with the big dogs, but he can’t lift his leg high enough.
Mr. Weiner fell off the DrugWar gravy train with the passing of Klinton’s Regime, and has been trying to climb up onto that highly lucrative gravy train ever since…with his shoeprints on the backs of his former ‘colleagues’ and his successors, courtesy of being highly critical of their seeming lack of enthusiasm in prosecuting the DrugWar. One of those Brandeisian ‘men of zeal, without understanding’.
Deadliest Catch, do you watch it? I won’t anymore.
Last show the new captain of the Cornelia Marie (near the end of the show), said he wouldn’t let Jake drive the boat because he smelled marijuana on Jake’s breath. My jaw dropped a hundred feet. Jake has enough on his plate without this bozo and discovery channel messing with his life any further.
Denmark, I haven’t regularly watched TV in years, but do sporadically when visiting relatives. I couldn’t tell you what’s popular on TV and what isn’t. Though I do know what show you’re referring to; saw it years ago.
I haven’t kept up on the latest seasons of that show, but couldn’t help thinking that as stressful a job as that is (as in, any second you could become a ‘statistic’) it would be better for the crews in off-hours (what few they have) to chill with a doobie than a bottle. I’d wager that alcoholism is as much a hallmark of that profession as it is for cops.

Just another “book of lies!” Plain and simple. As to seeing the self-appointed titles of some of the reviewers, GIVE ME A BREAK! How could publishers swallow such BS? It just takes a brand name down one more step. Prohibitionists not only want to take us down, they want to take as many with them, when the light shines on them, as they can gather.
Dear little Paulie must have heard the head Bullshitter is looking for another job. He probably feels, with a book out now, he’s “entitled.” Isn’t that the mindset of Prohibitionists? Eat their young and step over the bodies they’ve caused?
thin’s be gettin’ hot

ezrydn, the book publisher just wants to make money. They know that clowns like Mr. Chabot and his ilk preach to an audience of sheeple who’s lowest common denominator is doing as they’re told. It’s the same reason that businesses pay for Rush Limbaugh to endorse their product.
You know nowadays they have “audio books” where someone actually reads the book to you. This way they can expand their customer base to include the illiterate.
I have asked them for a review copy of the book. And if they agree, I will happily and truthfully review it for you.
Wonderful, thank you
Can’t WAIT. Lets be as fair as possible. The man deserves the benefit of the doubt. As in: “I doubt there’s any benefit to reading his book”.
It’ll be fun, Pete, to see how many times you use the words “Bull Shit!” LOL Those two words probably decry the entire publication.
Ok…. I’m a glutton for punishment… This is the link to Paul R.Chabot’s May 2008 Doctoral Dissertation submitted to George Washington University…..

So I went and looked up the Partnership at Drugfree dot org because of that disturbing phone call and it seems it’s the Partnership for a Truthfree America sporting a new name. Their CEO gets $360k in salary.

I see their still getting product placement money from Denny’s. They’ve got that fried egg on the “about us” page. Gosh I can’t count the number of times I’d see that PSA and end up at Denny’s ordering a Grand Slam breakfast.

This is your brain on prohibition: {null}
Any questions?
You’ll have to forgive me for not providing a direct link. The thought of sending people there is making me particularly nauseated this evening. Now where did I leave my anti-emetic? It’s got to be around here somewhere.
Funny thing is he did put on the cover all the symbolism of who is really pulling all the strings in the drug war.
“How to fight terrorists, drug cartels, pirates, gangs & organized crime…”
Keep doing the same thing we’ve been doing for the past 40 years. It’s gonna start working any day now. We promise.
p.p. 37 – An Historical Case Study of Organizational Resiliency within the Arellano-Felix Drug Trafficking Organization – Paul R.Chabot
Hamel et al. (2003) “First, the organization must push away from its past and be willing to throw everything away for a new beginning. The company must have the ability to see what needs changing and be willing to consider those needed changes. This challenge is referred to as the cognitive challenge.”
I think that forty one years of prohibition is undeniable evidence of the failure of the first challenge.

Wait, so those quotes from John Walters and Calvina Fay are real? I seriously thought Pete was just making up a parody of what they would say about this book.
as was stated above Chris… there is no parodying of these folks. They are literally the Theatre of the Absurd. As good and weird and multi-leveled as Firesign Theater is (there is no experience in the world that matches listening to Firesign Theater on psychedelics… “wanna squeeze the wheeze?”) today’s Prohibitionists are… impossible to believe. They’re sooo yucky (it’s the 10 year old in me, if I didn’t substitute his voice for the current me it would be a torrent of profanity, mostly from the classic work, “On Excrementarianism – a turd by any other name”) that I find it really scarey to think they might be able to reproduce!
Well heck, if they’re Prohibition Excrementalists it makes sense then to say that they practice Excrementarianism… I think they call their bishops the Big Poopers (all PHDs by the way – Piled Higher and Deeper) and they don’t participate in Passover, instead they celebrate Gasover… among their chief beliefs is that “if you bury the truth beneath a big enough pile of shit, no one will ever want to uncover it.” My favorite of course is the oft heard mantra of those select, troubled few who dig deeper into the dung of mystic Excrementalism – “good shit, bad shit… it’s all shit – pile it on!” A phrase I believe that comes from the organization’s founder – Anus “Scatman” Giganticus.

checked out this paul chabot on the internet….there’s a load of video interviews and other material on him….he really is the most odious, weaseliest guy i’ve seen for some time. He’s clearly going all out to get elected to a position of power using the legalization issue as his schtick…. he isn’t interested in anything except what’s good for paul chabot….
A scarlet suit, a flowing cape.
A magic word, a super change
give me a break, more prohibitionist dribble.
while I tend to agree that it’s probably dribble, consider that this will be a compendium of the Prohibs’ complete arsenal. With the “reviews” being from the likes of Fay and Walters it just seems to me that the Prohibs will be using this as a bible of sorts (Holy Excrementarianism!) and it does behoove us (well at least the masochists among us) to be reading/quoting right along with ’em.
I also suspect mr Chabot will be hawking this for all he’s worth (I mean w/a cover like that?). It would be nice to be on top of his public appearances. SSDP did a good job for awhile shadowing Walters… I mean wouldn’t it be nice, when Chabot opens his mouth, for someone to be there to assist him and make sure he puts both feet in?
Hey Allan…..you’re right… in the little bit i saw on the stossel show and some other places he pulls out all the old, well rehearsed lies: “cannabis is as carcinogenic as tobacco; we can’t test for it so users will drive high; most rehab clients are there for cannabis use; cannabis is so much stronger (and hence more dangerous) than it was in the 60s etc.” I didn’t find him saying cannabis causes schizophrenia, but that’s another lie in the prohib’s arsenal of distortions.
Perhaps we should list these on the site Pete, along with brief counterpoint arguments showing why they are nonsense.
Most users are in rehab for cannabis??
In San Francisco there are more than 700 AA meetings every week.
http://www.aasf.org/meetingsBrowse.cfm?getRegion=SF&getTimeCode=N&s=h
In San Francisco there are 114 Narcotics Anonymous meetings each week.
http://portaltools.na.org/portaltools/MeetingLoc/SSearchResults.cfm
In San Francisco, arguably the cannabis capital of the United States, there are 3 Marijuana Anonymous meetings every week, and most peculiarly 1 monthly meeting.
http://www.marijuana-anonymous.org/meetdt1.shtml
There are some Know Nothing prohibitionists who would argue that merry wanna addicks just use NA meetings. There’s no way possible that these people have ever been to an NA meeting when a cannabis user shows up. They’re treated as objects of derision and considered laughing stock for trying to rank their so called addiction with the users of opioids, cocaine, and street meth.
“Perhaps we should list these on the site Pete, along with brief counterpoint arguments showing why they are nonsense.”
Would love to see that also!
This is a military guy, likely from northern Virginia, land that produces the deadliest most addictive substance, who reminds me of those sociopaths running that state with their fake ‘moral’ attitudes against people with say a have oz split into two (FELON!!! You wanted to make money), while pushing adulterated, mislabeled ciragettes (the real Dope).
These people are sociopaths, and if that is the attitude of our military, God help those wherever they are stationed.
Hi my family member! I want to say that this post is amazing, nice written and include almost all important infos. I’d like to see more posts like this .
