Is this another you-tube only, or has somebody actually managed to get air-time for this? Actually, I’d be interested to know if any pro-19 adds have made it onto television…anybody out there know??
I haven’t seen any prop 19 ads, but according to this article there’s only been one from either side:

I think the target demographic doesn’t watch TV ads much, although a good educational campaign might have helped with swing votes. It’s a long shot, but if they can get alot more youth vote than normal it could pass. Still keeping my fingers crossed.

I could not discern if the harm marijuana caused was inclusive of the cost of it’s prohibition to society.The imprisonment costs etc.
If it does,then legalization puts it’s harm to society as the least harmful on the list.

Oh my stomach is a turning….
Campaign fatigue. I’ve come down with it every election since ’80. But you’re right, Malcolm it’ll be bad this one…. I’m still burnin, though, my crash always comes about ten o’clock on election night. I don’t drink alcohol. Don’t like it, but every election night since Bush/Gore I’ll have a Cognac or two, just to keep me goin’ so I don’t shut down and go to bed early.
I hardly ever make it through election night though, I usually have to get the results the next day.
May the good people of California lead the way into sanity. That’s all we can hope for. And even if we don’t win tomorrow, the prohibs know that next time we will, for now people have shown just how much they’re willing to do to make this happen.
The Soros and other bigwig money didn’t appear until after we proved we meant business by beginning to contribute toward our own freedom, with our own hard-earned money. Remember this well.
For, that was the sign. The sign so many in the movement had been waiting for. For even those of us with limited means gave what we could, even when it hurt, to make it happen. That says something, and says it loud and clear. It’s obvious now, to us, to our allies, and to our opponents, that we will no longer accept second-class citizenship, based solely upon our choice of intoxicant, but fist-pound-the-table DEMAND our freedoms back.
The forces of darkness (and yes, I do believe that that is what prohibition represents) that clothe themselves in the raiment of justice, while their robes hide shrunken, rotted souls, are on notice: WE. WILL. NOT. BE. STOPPED!

Clay, I can’t remember a thing about the trip back to the world….that day, along with a butt-load of others is gone. I only know what happenend because I was told about it later.

I remember that long, hot wait on the Da Nang tarmac, waiting for that C-141 to show it’s pretty self. I thought it’d never get there! I also remember kissing the tarmac at Travis upon arrival.
darkcycle, you’re right. It’s only one battle and we’ve been here before so it’s not new territory. And, if 19 wins, there’s “policing our people” to be done. It’s how they function AFTER passage that will say a lot.
We’ve registered and re-registered our guns, over and over. The enemy shows no signs of withdrawal or breaking contact so we are on combat assault standby with engines at flight idle. Waiting.
Just don’t forget that if 19 wins, we’ve got 49 other field units to support. This is only the beginning of the operation, not the end. Don’t forget what happened after X-ray, on the way to Albany. We have to stay alert.
From MM to now has not been a short trip or an easy one. Nor will the rest be any easier. Yet, as Kaptin said, we’ve proved that we’re willing to return fire, even if it’s out last “slug.” We’ve learned to charge into ambushes instead of taking cover. I, for one, have learned much from you guys and gals and truly appreciate the “instruction.” It’s also been fun knowing our “Cowboy” scout…and his horse!
Now, we wait. Scanning the bush, looking for any movement. We don’t know if the ships inbound tomorrow or the next day will take us back to base camp or just resupply us. This, we’re used to. I’m ready for a relaxing evening and afternoon now. Clean the weapons, resupply the webgear, fill the canteens, grab more Cs and just “be ready.” One more night in the bush and we should know something, or at least, have indicators. We’ve sent Smokey and Puff home to reload a get needed maintence. No contacts tonight. Have as good of a sleep as you can get. We ain’t finished by a long shot!

Win lose or draw,Prop 19 has already forced more politicians to look a little harder at their budgeting committees,the impact that all this will have,we’ll know pretty quick as they get ready for next years budget hearings.
It has countries all over the world discussing decriminalization and ending the WoD because they,unlike our government,realize it is a waste of time and resources with no end achievable.
If Prop 19 passes by a small margin,expect to hear more moaning from the prohibs,but if it passes by 70% or more
it will really shake up their foundations and the house of cards will fall much faster.

methinks the LEAPsters frontal assault took some chug outta the Prohib train. I love seeing Joe McNamara and Jim Gray standing calmly pat on the what is and what isn’t of the drug war.
Our starting line-up is top notch and we’ve got a bench that goes way deep. The Prohibs are lucky to field a full team. When we start getting Tavis Smiley and Bill Maher and Jon Stewart and Oprah and the View and Charlie Rose and the network morning shows interviewing the top LEAPsters and Howard W (that’s the man there, he and Misty are eye-catchers) and having them ask these hosts why the govt lies, why the drug kzar won’t debate, why hemp is illegal, why laws based on racist BS are still on the books, why the Supreme Court can nullify the Bill o’ Rights under some specious “drugs exception”…
And then of course there is us. We realllllllllly need a major one-time march/MASS protest (w/ posssible civil disobedience), prolly at the WH. And we need to still keep writing those LTEs, still engaging on every front on the wwweb… each of us and all of us, doing our thangs.
I’m almost afraid to post this, since she loves the attention (just ask Jimmy Wales) but this woman makes Datig look sane.
Right now I’m guessing Prop 19 loses 49 to 51, but I’m a notorious pessimist. If it passes I’m going to buy Pete something from his wish list.
And if it loses we’ll just start the process all over again. We shall prevail!
