Peru would like a little death and destruction

Lima

President Alan Garcia said he is willing to accept U.S. military aid to combat drug traffickers, provided that this help is in the logistical and training areas, a Peruvian newspaper reported Sunday, citing an interview the head of state recently gave.

“On all matters that are humane and universal, I don’t have any disagreement over sovereignty and patriotism. That is, if the Americans would like to put training troops (here), as they have helicopters, as they have satellite trainers here, it’s just at the right time,” Garcia said.

Garcia then went on to point out that other countries receiving drug war aid from the U.S. — Mexico, Afghanistan, Colombia — are much more exciting than his, with massacres, shoot-outs in the streets, colorful and unpredictable police and military forces. Garcia hopes for a little more of that action, and thinks that U.S. military aid may be just the ticket.

Obama’s drug war is every bit as virulent and nasty as Bush’s, just less honest.

Obamber is the messiah and the democrats care about the little people.

@stale kool-aid… do you actually have anything to say, or are you just spouting slogans? Tippecanoe and Tyler, too. See, I can do that as well, and it means absolutely nothing.

We don’t have to control anything. Personally, I just skip past commenters like you when I learn that you are not offering anything of substance. Pete may soon tire of your empty comments and delete them. After all, he is the webmaster on this blog. So you just keep screwing with the bull and sooner or later your gonna get the horn.

I’m a Libertarian since 1990, so don’t even try to say I’m an Obama apologist.

Didn’t they learn anything from the Amazon shoot down fiasco?

Why is it always the non-users who have such short memories?

I think it is important to note that the worst violence, the most depraved acts, the nastiest corruption in the entire world follows the U.S. Government wherever they go to “help” people. It happens so often, and in such a similar manner that it cannot be a coincidence.

We must figure out a way to stop our own Government before they come to our towns and kill us all under the guise of “helping” us.

Im just sick of government”help”. Everytime they want to “help us or others in other countries…

    1: We end up poorer
    2: People end up dead.

Its a reoccurring theme it seems…anyone care to take notes and send them to these other countries? Not that it would do any good. Many of these countries see dollar signs.

Peru only wants the american military there to bring in more money for its goverment administration. IMO this is one of americas biggest flaws we freely give away resources to countries to help fight a problem in our own country. Personally i would be glad if americas foriegn policy changed to be more isolated. Let us keep our own special brand of crazy here and let others do their thing instead of spreading our views on whats right to the world.

Poor little Peru. I can’t remember the last time Peru had honest leadership.

Peru continues to battle the Sendero Luminoso (SL) or Shining Path, which according to government sources funds itself through narcotics transactions. Alleged SL attacks were carried out against drug enforcement personnel in 2008 and in one isolated incident in 2010, but lately the SL has been focusing on public indoctrination to achieve its political goals.

So why the arms and personnel if SL is trying to go legit?

I’m guessing U.S. arms dealers and mercenary companies made generous contributions to President Alan Garcia’s Caribbean bank accounts. In return, the dealers want El Presidente to suggest that the United States send arms and mercenary training crews to Peru at U.S. taxpayer expense. Drugs are used here as the ever-convenient excuse. The benefit for Sr. Garcia is that he can continue to use the drugs-angle to crush his fledgling political opposition from the left.

BTW, today’s SL is believed to consist of from 200-to-300 individuals.

How come it’s perfectly legal to burn something in public knowing quite well that it could possibly start world war 3, but illegal to burn something else in private wishing only to self-medicate?

Blue Falcons, don’t get testy there yourself thou dead-brained, false, drab little bug. Thou art like a toad; slimy and venomous!

    Blue Falcons/stale kool-aid,

How come two accounts. One not good enough for ya? BTW, is BF the name of your current high school mascot? You’ve already told us what you drink. And if you think Pete can’t block IPs, you’re badly mistaken. And, since your rant won’t change, until you grow up anyway, it’ll be fairly easy to spot you off another IP and he can take that one down, too. You see, what he or someone else doesn’t know how to do, there are those here who DO know how to do it.

Research the icon before your childishness gets you in a corner. And Pete, you have my vote!

Interesting that you care about what I say enough to respond to my comment in an infantile and very rude manner. Typical trolling behavior detected.

Your comments are adding nothing to this discussion. So, wipe the Cheeto crumbs off your fingers and find something more constructive to do with your time in Mom’s basement. I’ll bet she wishes you would get off your ass and find a paying job rather than trolling websites and irritating people with your need for attention.

  16. darkcycle says:

OMG! Did he really call Cliff a “PINKO”? Oh man, what time machine did this guy arrive in? Doncha know, Blue Falcons, the new universal bad guys are them muslums…We LIKE the Commies now, or haven’t you looked at the “Made in” label on your, well… anything recently?

  17. Cliff says:

Yeah, darkcycle, his troll-fu is very, very weak.
