Pretty hilarious, the notion that cops can spot a drug user’s eyes in a moving car at night in the rain.
Then again, given the natural paranoia that often accompanies pot smoking, it could be a pretty effective ad.
[Thanks, Bruce]

Use some eye drops. I got pulled over on weed once for speeding and she couldn’t tell.
You mean they don’t have Visine in GB???
Pretty funny.
The kids eyes weren’t even bloodshot.
More ridiculousness from England, their propogandists are so out of touch with reality that it is almost funny.
We have our own fair share of wingnuts…
The Case For Medical Marijuana By Bruce Mirken
CN Source: Forbes Magazine August 17, 2009 USA
In a piece published here last week, Rachel Ehrenfeld reports with dismay that the National Institute on Drug Abuse is presently soliciting proposals from contractors to grow marijuana for research and other purposes. Unfortunately, Ehrenfeld’s misunderstanding of this request for proposals is so monumental that one doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Ehrenfeld suggests that this is some sinister part of “Obamacare.”

Every time I think the US has the crappiest drug propaganda and hardcore police state I look across the pond at England. I guess it’s a competition to see who can create the most criminals.
Here in Denmark the prohibs are gung-ho about a new little tool they got. A cardboard thingy with pupil sizes that supposedly can tell them which drug the driver might have taken. I never heard of this tool and I haven’t got the faintest idea if it’s at all accurate.
Of course, being predujicial in these matters I suspect it’s a bit like a scientific tool and a bit like voodoo.
Smeagul must have been a hardcore stoner.
I very much support the campaign, i’m not sure how successful it will be on its own. I just read in the car news section at Exchange and Mart that Peterborough council are releasing a series of adverts where victims of drug driving talk about real-life cases. http://tiny.cc/nGgxS I reckon they might be more effective, similar to the shocking drink drive ads that demonstrated the devastating effects it can have. The “eyes” adverts don’t really convey that same message
Here in england we over hype this to such an extent. Sure you get bloodshot eyes when you smoke, but if a persons eyes grew to such an extent as theirs did, I can vouch for every Marijuana user that we would be blind…..surely expansion of ones eyes to and extent like that wouldn’t even fit in a skull!? so weed results in your eye sockets growing aswell? Sure, driving under the influence isn’t good, and yeah I can get this and feel those that do should be prosecuted. What is actually trying to be done is insinuating that anybody will notice you being high and you will be prosecuted thus for using an illegal substance. Abuse of a substance is wrong but trying to use driving accidents and scare tactics to ward people away from cannabis is a clear point how the UK needs to re-think its drug policies.
