I’m sure that some of you have also gotten weary of the constant political posturing and sniping (particularly if you spend any time on Facebook) involved in the Presidential election politics. This process seems to go on forever. And we still have over 5 months until the election.
And I find myself wondering “When do we get to talk about criminal justice reform?”
I mean, really. When do we get to have national conversations about actual issues instead of haggling over personalities?
And I get told “Well, we have to prevent X from becoming President or the world will end.” Once we accomplish that, then we can deal with actual issues.” But, of course that’s not true – then we’ll be talking about the midterms.
…
Meanwhile, I suppose we talk about the Presidential election…
On the stump, Bernie Sanders makes pitch for legal pot in California
“It makes sense to legalize marijuana at this particular point,” Sanders told supporters this week on a dusty softball field at a park in East Los Angeles where, like at many of his outdoor events in California, a slightly pungent pot aroma wafted through the air. “So if I were here in your state, I would vote yes on that issue.”
Also, the Libertarian Party convention is happening this weekend. And they have real potential to, well, not actually win, but have a bit of a showing.
Libertarian Party set to pick nominee at convention
The likely Democratic and Republican nominees each have historically high unfavorable numbers. Media attention for the party, both the national committee chairman and the party’s political director say, is at unprecedented levels.
So it is with an air of opportunity to break out of obscurity that Libertarians, members of the country’s most prominent third party, have gathered for their national convention in Orlando, Florida, this weekend to officially pick a candidate to pitch to angry voters.
Of course, the reason they won’t have a chance is that the Democratic and Republican parties control the process (including the debates), and additionally there will be all sorts of browbeating of people to say that if they throw their vote away on the Libertarians, then the evil R or evil D will win and it’ll be that voter’s fault. The ghost of Ralph Nader will be repeatedly invoked.
I really do wish we had the preferential voting system that they have in Australia. Then, there’s no chance of throwing away your vote.
I second that motion, Pete.
There is no way off the political merry-go-round unless we make it happen.
.
.
We might have a 4 way clusterphuck. I think that there’s a very good chance that if Sen. Sanders (I-VT) doesn’t get the nomination that he’ll run as an independent. It’s not as if he’s never done it.
Also, he has the money now, and the fame from his run against the Dem establishment.
.
.
Let’s not forget about the polls which say he stomps Mr. Trump if they go head to head.
Of course those polls are instrumental in keeping Secretary Clinton from being indicted. I’d really like to see Senator Sanders throw in the towel and endorse Ms. Clinton. It’s a gamble but I think it’s a good bet that it wouldn’t be long before she gets indicted.
I swear on the proverbial stack of bibles that I wrote the text above before I stumbled on this one:
Die-Hard Bernie Sanders Backers See F.B.I. as Answer to Their Prayers
Willie Nelson is on the California Democratic Primary ticket running for President of the United States.
No, it’s not the same Willie Nelson of marijuana fame, but won’t Mr. Nelson’s presence in the California primary take weed votes away from Bernie, who is currently in what’s being called a “dead heat†political race with Ms. Clinton? Mr. Nelson, a false flag operation, perhaps?
A win for Bernie in CA would be a major drug war political statement directed at Clinton and the Dems.
We helped Bernie here and now we have CBD oil coming. He and Cruz won. Now I have to register GOP and vote for the only congressional candidate who’d help Vets get medicine, which is a huge stepping stone for our state. He had to witness the ‘law’ keep him from fighting ISIS in Afghanistan who were but 50yrds away–the same people who attacked his company the day before, causing his men to lose legs and arms . . . the same people who he wasn’t legally allowed to pursue–shut down. So, he’s seen the lies and would be easier to open up for the truth about Cannabis. He’s seen how the U.S. government reinforces the Afghan government to allow but one rifle and 20 rounds per person–making them prime targets for Taliban attacks/control in remote areas.
Am I missing something here? It says Willie WILSON, not Nelson.
You’re right. I read it wrong last night. Sorry. I don’t know know how that happened.
Don’t give them ideas….they’ll find someone to change their name to Tommy Chong and split the stoner vote…..
.
.
Does more than a marginal number of the fans of cannabis vote in the primaries?
Duncan, don’t know the answer to that. CA’s primary is on June 7, we’ll find out then, or thereafter.
Jean Valjean, the technique might work against the opposition. We could get Phil Bennett to compete with Phil O’Reilly to split the prohibition vote.
I just have to say something about this.
It really is, so corrupt you know, our system in America. It’s incredible. I jest on facebook sometimes about political views, because for the most part, I dont really care about politics, the only thing I care about is the drug issue. My reason is because the drug issue is also a mortality issue, atleast personally, the drug situation dictates my life. Recently someone lectured me about my choices and even cited my age as a reason I need to think things over. Well, I’m 31 now and yes I have been doing this a long time, but does a diabetic get a break from their medication? No. Do those rare, lucky people who actually benefit from anti-depressants, get to take a break? No. The results are awful. I’m not so ignorant that I didn’t try, I tried more times than I can count and the results are always the same. And because of my choices I’m “inconsistent, unreliable, need to get your bleep together to be able to contribute to the family assets” if you will, however, when the carpets needed to be ripped out of one of such assets, who was it that got called to do the job for less than what a proper professional would do it for? Yes, me. And of course they knew what I was going to do with that money. Ah its all so sick man.
But sorry I digress. The election thing.
So obviously Its hard for me to stay on top of alot of current events, i believe it was a week ago to the day that I was at someones house in the morning having coffee and they had the TV on and it was via the TV that I found out that I believe at some point, Bernie Sanders won a states popular vote, only to lose the states electoral votes or something???? I asked my host if this was true and if that did in fact happen they said yes. I wanted to throw up. No, I wanted to cry.
Seriously that upsets me so much even now, half awake typing this.
Now what Pete was saying before about how our country is controlled and dominated by the two parties. It is so disgusting and I want to take a second to point out how wrong it is, how sick it is, what the political “eagerness” does to adults who are supposed to be responsible for the education of children…
I dont know, some would say I was blessed with an insane memory, it has been more a curse than a blessing really.
So I can remember very distinctly, every single year, in public school, here in NYC, as a matter of fact, it was Public School 24, PS 24 in the Bronx where these memories take place.
Every election time they made school events, I ask you, is that appropriate? Like what do Kindergarteners to 5th graders know about anything related to politics? No kid in that school had a CLUE who they were, let alone who to vote for. This must have been some kind of sick game the school staff did to get a glimpse of what the parents felt, I think. They made school events, having us all vote. I remember it so well. It was so weird because as a kid, at that point, when we were herded into the auditorium and there were at first only TWO choices.. Bill Clinton and George Bush Sr. and after a while Ross Perot was put in there. LOL. I swear none of us had any clue and most of the kids must have just been doing whatever they thought their parents wanted. But how sick is this whole thing, holding a mock vote like that, 1,0000 maybe 2,0000 kids??? None of us had a clue what the third party was, what a third party was, and its ingrained in us as youngsters in the public school system, that there are only two parties that matter. Well of course you know me I voted for Ross Perot. I think he got 5 votes from the whole school. And of course, it being NY, Bill Clinton won that mock vote by alot. LOL. Its really disgusting man. But seriously the more I analyze all of it, the more it seems to me something very real, very physical, very violent, very angry, has to happen to change our country because the talking, the debating, the writing, its really unlikely to make drastic anything happen.. but hopefully it can be fuel for the physical anarchy that needs to happen to wipe the slate clean. I have no hope for anything else…. though I did, when Ron Paul had run last election.
Bernie Sanders has the laergest bipartisan following in the Presidential race and he can still win as a (D) if he files the “write in” requirements so voters can write him in over Hillary,,,another possibility besides dropping from the party he wants to back him up in Congress if he wins the election.
His remaining in the race also carries his energy into any candidates that jump on Bernie’s side of the table and promise to help him overturn Citizens United and hemp prohibition.
It is disappointing only a few candidates are beating a drum for Bernie’s reform plans but from what I gather the ones that are supportive of reform are doing well in their campaigns..TMK.
Sander’s victory in my area has changed drug laws positively–all the more reason to register as a Republican next week for the congressional primary coming up . . . I have a candidate who knows first hand about ISIS and the Taliban’s addiction to drug money and why Vets should have the right to use medicine and grow hemp. Few people have had the opportunity to live in the Middle East since 2001, so I have to constantly reinforce the fact that those who are willing to kill us, use drug money, like ISIS who only burns marijuana fields for their own people–proving their control of the location (which says nothing about their willingness to pedal African Coke and Afghan smack [if a shipment of coke lands in West Africa from Columbia than coke technically comes from Africa]). They (also) sell black market drugs, which keeps up the political excuse to stay at war for oil and precious minerals. Legalize drugs, then the smoke of war thins out enough to see our dirty reasons for staying. The War on Terror is a subsidiary of the War on Drugs. Those of us who have actually been to Prison in Baghdad (Camp Cropper) know that X% of drug money funded 9/11. “Organized Crime is why you are here,” sayeth a high ranking officer . . . what he failed to tell me was “Organized Crime gives us the excuse to stay and make money off blood and destruction for so so long.” I have one positive experience of working alongside the CIA: separating the granules of truth in the sandstorm of lies.

Hot off the virtual presses: Gary Johnson Wins Libertarian Nomination for President
He’s polling in double digits. Does ayone know if I’ve ever seen a Libertarian polling double digits? Usually it a pleasant surprise when one breaks into the single digits. Then again let’s not forget that he’s a LINO. Fun stuff….Mr. Trump is a RINO, Sen. Sanders is a DINO, and Ms. Clinton is a WINO. Interestinger and interestinger.
Usage and general views…
neo-conservatism
During the early 1970s, Socialist Michael Harrington was one of the first to use “neoconservative” in its modern meaning. He characterized neoconservatives as former leftists – whom he derided as “socialists for Nixon” – who had become more conservative. These people tended to remain endorsers of social democracy, but distinguished themselves by allying with the Nixon administration with respect to foreign policy, especially by their endorsement of the Vietnam War and opposition to the USSR. They still endorsed the welfare state, but not necessarily in its contemporary form.
Trotskyism allegation
Critics have argued that since the founders of neo-conservatism included ex-Trotskyites, that therefore Trotskyist traits continue to characterize neo-conservative ideologies and practices. During the Reagan Administration, the charge was made that the foreign policy of the Reagan administration was being managed by ex-Trotskyists.
Volkow’s Vengeance on Americans, Trotsky Fantasism
Dr. Volkow is the great-granddaughter of Russian revolutionary and Head of the Fourth International, Leon Trotsky, born Lev Davidovich Bronshtein. Grand daughter of Zinaida Volkova. Gives credence that the nut never falls far from the tree.
Inhumanly ruthless in his dealings with non-Bolsheviks and at the same time thoroughly inept in his relations with Stalin…. In the end it is impossible to see him as anything other than an absurd figure, a fantasist seeking to found a paradise who helped build a hell on earth.
To her American admirers, Volkow appears as a kind of Soviet Garibaldi, fighting for freedom against an evil pot empire. The problem is that Volkow is one of those chiefly responsible for that evil.
News media are earnestly reporting this story without any mention that the drug war is 100% the cause of so called “cartel crossfire.”

Legal Weed is Not Dumbing Down Nation’s Teens
http://www.cannabisnews.com/news/thread28844.shtml
Opponents of marijuana liberalization warned that these changes would bring devastating consequences, particularly for kids: “But what about the children?” was the common refrain. The president of National Families in Action, an anti-drug group, warned that commercial marijuana would “literally dumb down the precious minds of generations of children.” Psychiatrist Christian Thurstone, an outspoken opponent of Colorado’s marijuana legalization, argued in 2010 that “the state’s relaxed laws have made the drug widely available — and irresistible — to too many adolescents.”
The number of American teens with marijuana-related problems — such as dependency on the drug, or troubles with family and school due to marijuana use — fell by 24 percent between 2002 and 2013. The overall number of teens using marijuana fell, too. And the teens who do use marijuana are less likely to experience problems due to the drug.
A study was published by the Imperial College of London which says the Great Recession created 500,000 additional cancer deaths throughout the world, with 18,000 occurring in the U.S. All deaths are linked by a lack of universal health care and the loss of jobs with health care benefits, or a spiraling cost of treatment for the partially insured. Spain, with its universal health care program, didn’t have this problem.
One thing overlooked in the official health calculations is the role marijuana plays in health care. Even though a person might be denied kidney dialysis as part of the greedy corruption embedded in their health plan’s contract, they still have access to marijuana—for whatever marijuana treats or prevents—through the black market, if nowhere else. Compared to the relative cost of an uninsured hospital visit, or kidney dialysis, marijuana is a bargain.
Marijuana—America’s universal health care system.

Oh-oh. This could be a problem…do you recall the stoned bunnies in Utah?
They should launch an immediate investigation into the role played by Roger Waters in this fiasco.
The print version of the Daily Mail has an even more extreme example of reefer madness….one of the “stoned sheep” was so stimulated by weed that it inseminated 30 ewes overnight….Big Pharma and Viagra can never compete with that.
.
.
OK, now it all makes sense…they were black sheep, probably the jazz musician variety. I’ll bet dollars to dirt that the ewes were white sheep, virgins until corrupted by the evil Negro jazz musician sheep!
Sometimes I lose sleep, laying in bed, tossing and turning, wracking my brain trying to figure out how in the heck that the sycophants of prohibition come up with fiction like that. Mad sheep, bunnies which aren’t worried about being someone’s dinner, green tongues, man teats…has anyone ever proved that they don’t live in a parallel reality where all this stuff isn’t farfetched fiction?
As you implied, they learnt everything they know about the prohib biz from the fevered imagination of Harry J. himself.
Since THC on growing plants must be heated to appx 250 degrees F a bioligist could explain what part of the sheep reaches that temperature so it becomes THC D 90 instead of THCA.

Got it in one there Malc. I gather the Arizona news channel is waiting for Sheriff Joe Arpaio to chip in his two cents worth…. that fucker would make anyone seem normal.
The plot thickens.
From Sheriff Babeu’s Wiki page:
“The following February, undocumented immigrant Jose Orozco claimed that Babeu and Orozco had been lovers since meeting in 2006 on an online dating site. Orozco claimed that Babeu had known that he was an undocumented immigrant while they were lovers, at odds with Babeu’s views on immigration policy. After the relationship ended, Orozco claims that Babeu threatened Orozco with deportation to guarantee his silence. Orozco claimed his statements are documented in copies of email and SMS correspondence between Orozco and Babeu.[25]”

No2Pot’s leader Teresa Miller greatest shame
Over the weekend in a anti cannabis page based in Florida on facebook, a photo of Teresa Miller was found with her posing with DFAF (Drug Free America Awards) when i tagged some Straight Inc survivors like Webdiva about the photo, it was taken down pretty fast as No2Pot made it obvious that they had no problem endorsing the child abuse that happened at Straight Inc, also it was taken down pretty quickly when people started calling Melvin Sembler the ringleader of child abuse
Great work! and potentially YUGE. Please keep us posted.
What about a link?
The link has been taken down by the Florida anti drugs coalition, its also comprised of many Melvin Sembler cronies

I keep hearing about “what will it take to get the Bernie Sanders crowd to back Hillary?”
(Assuming he doesn’t win & she isn’t indicted or whatever over her email… Which as much as I dislike her the proper way for her to keep that for the historical archivist & FOIA requests was to have someone print out the email and file it in a box or drawer – which was ludicrous. She did seem to want to keep an extra layer between her correspondence & FOIA requests, who wouldn’t? But some public officials don’t really have that option according to the ‘records act’ whose name escapes me…)
We need to make sure that the media & Hillary and the Democratic Party know we want a REAL end to the drug war – and by that we mean = Marijuana removed from the CSA descheduled completely.
NOT Hillary’s – “Well, maybe Medical Marijuana” – *lets watch and pray something makes the sky fall*. We don’t need anymore time in the Federalist/States “50 Laboratories of Democracy”, and this conceit that the Largely Republican social conservative controlled States & Local governments will ever actually agree to anything more than CBD oil for epileptic children = Is Complete Nonsense!
And the States will use the copout of “the Single Convention Treaties won’t let us do that…” We can tell the U.N. where to shove those treaties.
I don’t want to keep hearing the *criminal justice reform* code-speak, otherwise the media thinks young people want “free-stuff” public college tuition & healthcare, those are great but If we were all 100% honest = We want legalized cannabis & the cops to stop arresting people for drugs unless they’re severely disturbing or manifestly endangering the public…
No forced treatment in place of jail-time and/or ultimatums about stopping further use backed up by Authoritarian Nanny State monitoring = via probation and urine testing… If people hit rock bottom and want help then offer it don’t fill the beds with people who are only there to avoid incarceration or other punishment for illegal inebriation of one form or another…
To Hell with the Conservative ‘Values Voters’ & their Moral Scolds can all go to Hell directly to Hell = “Don’t Pass Go” or “Collect $200K” (per bed, per year, or more idk?)

“Cannabis Prohibition is a Human Rights Violation”
“Meet the Man Who Wants to Stop Sick People from Using Medical Marijuana”
… “Now I don’t know Mel Sembler personally, but I know that his quest to deny sick people their medicine is nothing short of a human rights violation. And while Mel isn’t the only one looking to continue this human rights violation, he’s certainly one of the most influential. Therefore, his efforts must be countered with the efforts of those who embrace compassion, tolerance and rational behavior.
The bottom line is that any individual who seeks to deny sick people their medication – and then gleefully boast about it – is an individual that needs to be stopped. Especially one who profited off a “drug treatment†operation that allegedly kidnapped and abused children.” …
another quote for some perspective:
“Donald Trump seems to be in support of legalization for medical marijuana.
But that could soon change. And not because he’s recently had a bad experience with the plant or the folks who rely on it for their medication.
No, I suspect Trump could have a change of heart now that one of his wealthiest fundraisers is also one of the most dangerous prohibitionists on the planet.”
He has Melvin Sembler and Sheldon Adelson in the team, that speaks volumes
Means one thing to me. Trump can’t be trusted on any issues regarding the drug war and the legalization of marijuana.

Trust me, Go with the smaller rectangular bales. Then you can go ahead and carry them like normal folks. The whole ‘pushing’ (or rolling) of those huge bales is for the birds.
With Melvin Sembler in Trump’s team, you can bet Melvin Sembler will use forced coercion on Donald Trump to change his mind on cannabis
Indonesia, known for executions of its people and foreign nationals on Bali involved in drug trafficking, wants to raise the ante by creating an island prison surrounded by a crocodile-filled moat to prevent convicted and jailed drug-traffickers from escaping.
Mr. Waseso is mistaken. It is possible to bribe crocodiles. A person simply needs to sacrifice someone to create a momentary diversion, such as tossing Budi Waseso into the moat.
