Marijuana should not become a household item to get on the shopping list while running errands. Do not “normalize†it. The link between harmful situations that occur when being under the influence is indisputable. Thousands of dollars are spent on education in the schools about the harmful effects of being under the influence.
This will be increased when kids are taught that smoking marijuana is an acceptable thing to do. So, if marijuana is legalized in Missouri then it will negatively affect future generations’ view on drugs.
I don’t know what they teach at Evangel University, but it clearly doesn’t include logic or academic research.
I remember (mostly) when I was a college student. I really thought I was pretty smart. In reality, I knew almost nothing. Over time, I began to see how truly ignorant I was. Still working on it today.
Go easy on her, fellow couch-surfers. She is young and stupid and will only gain real wisdom with age. Like us.

This young woman reminds me more of certain people I went to high school with (forget college). Very well intentioned, but of limited intelligence (although their brain capacity was quite suitable for high school). They were popular, members of many scholastic clubs — but socially duller than a box of butter knives. Imagine their horror when certain long haired surfers (ahem) known to partake of the demon weed were inducted into the National Honor Society right along with them.
This college student is both clueless and harmless. Although her position might seem to put her square into the raging cannabis debate, she’s a dimly lit sideshow at best. I must admit, though, I chuckled when I read this quote;

School supplies for the coming semester? check

After considering as much of the world’s hypocrisy that I can stand relative to my altered GI tract I have a hard time naming a single example which most nauseates me. It seems to depend on my mood. But while there are several qualified possibilities one that is consistently in the running for most nauseating is when the religionists who call themselves christians forget that they wouldn’t even have a religion had their ancestors in the first few centuries C.E. been inclined to obey any law which civil authorities enacted.

I must admit that when in HS I was just as brainwashed. Once life happened I could not help but notice that most everything my parents and teachers had told me was wrong. Happened in college. Once we question and challenge the status quo it collapses like a house of cards. Fortunately my college is a public one which promoted science and logic (except philosophy which waz taught by a thumper). Hopefully this young lady will one day become enlightened.

The Department of Justice released a memo Thursday directing U.S. attorneys not to prosecute Native American tribes for growing and selling marijuana on their sovereign lands.
The guidance, authored by Monty Wilkinson, the executive director of the Executive Office for United States Attorneys, extends even to reservations in states where marijuana has not yet been legalized.
The new policy, which is dated October 28 but was released publicly only today, is very similar to a 2013 memo the Justice Department issued outlining eight guidelines that states with legal marijuana would have to follow to avoid federal interference, such as not allowing sales to minors and preventing diversion of the drug to jurisdictions where it is prohibited.

So basically, as far as Congress and the Justice Dept are concerned, everyone in the US can make their own decisions regarding legalization. Except the residents of Washington, DC.
Though, assuming legalization remains intact in DC (doesn’t cost anything to NOT arrest people), they will have the most non-restrictive mj law in the world. Totally legal and totally unregulated! I’m sure that’s exactly what those who sought to block the vote had in mind. Makes not having dispensaries seem like not such a bad thing.

Tony, I’m pretty sure that possession above 2 ounces, cultivating more than 3 plants and “gifting” more than an ounce haven’t been repealed. IMO Maine has the most relaxed laws when a State’s cannabis laws are considered in their totality. It really isn’t close either. Here’s one of Maine’s: 99 plants or less is a misdemeanor. The problem is that the MDEA hands the prosecution of what they consider to be “significant” grows to the Feds.

I agree most kids think they know it all but in the case of the boomers, most of us did. At least some of us did. We fought against wars and bigotry. We still fight to keep profits out of the way of clean air and water. At least some of us. We have never stopped fighting to free the Hemp and Ganja plants. Computers and technology have replaced common sense in a lot of ways, but so far it has killed censorship of information the mainstream never sends. This is just sad seeing young people act so old and senile. As for Jesus. Again common sense dictates that if the incense was hashish and they still billow smoke like the present Monasteries do for mass. Then there is no doubt he got off on more than just the preaching.

Wow, guess I glossed over “college student” in the first line, because I did a double-take at “University.” I thought I’d just read an elementary school student’s words. I’m just going to take a guess and say Evangel University is probably a Christian school. That type of school is often not very big on academic subjects.
