We’ve made fun in the past of Cliff Kinkaide, a rabid, foaming at the mouth conservative prohibitionist writing at the ironically-named “Accuracy in Media.”
Unfortunately, Cliff has been relatively silent about drug policy for some time (I subscribe to his RSS feed), but the new Patrick Kennedy nonsense and Project SAM has brought Cliff out again: A Kennedy Shocks the Pro-Dope Liberal Media
Yeah, that’s the way he writes.
The major media do not want to cover the issue of marijuana causing mental illness. But because a prominent Democrat, Patrick Kennedy, has raised it, the media have nowhere left to hide. […]
The paper said Kennedy wants “to shift the debate from legalization to prevention and treatment—despite what appears to be a growing social acceptance of the drug.â€
That “growing social acceptance†is being driven by the drug-friendly media, the pro-drug entertainment industry, and a dope lobby led by the Drug Policy Alliance that is mostly funded by billionaires such as George Soros. […]
However, the pro-marijuana movement is on the move, with the state of Oregon sinking so low as to authorize the use of “medical marijuana†for a 7-year-old child with leukemia. The child’s father, who is divorced from the girl’s mother, reported the marijuana use to child welfare officials and said that he found the little girl “stoned out of her mind.†[…]
The dope lobby never expected a certified liberal—and the son of a liberal icon—to lead a new charge against them.
It’s fun to read his spewings again. Somehow, oddly, it just makes me feel that all’s right with the world.
It’s sort of like when you see one of those unkempt radical preachers on the quad of the campus raving about satan, and you look around him and see smart young people walking past on their way to learning and doing great things, the sight of the lunatic reminds you just how far outside reality he truly exists.
No comments allowed,,his words are left out there without rebuke or any challenge to bother him with. Fuck him
There’s really nobody who grows their own tobacco, few people brew their own beer, but comparatively more people have gardens of weed. I, for one, am not too concerned about the inevitable capitalistic corporatization because growing your own, now immortalized by Colorado, should keep the quality control balance in check, along with the smaller remaining black market. Just as like there is a dichotomy between Budweiser and craft microbreweries, there will be a duality between the mass market and specialty niches.
Good point about specialty niches. It seems likely that legal cannabis will skip the big business oligarchy phase and go straight to a more diversified market a la beer after homebrewing became legal in the late 1970s.
I do wonder if it’s right that more people grow pot than brew their own beer…by some estimates, there may be a million homebrewers in the country. Anyone care to guess how many Americans grow pot? I have no idea.
Evidently we all shall need Care one day, and by the sounds of it, there will be no Care there.
Sheesh
:Blanky: :sucks thumb:
The more the tide turns, the crazier the prohibs will get, right up to the bitter (for them) end. And it will become increasingly noticeable to those who, prior to their heightened exposure (courtesy of the increased media attention our wins in WA and CO provided), actually thought these people were rational.
Get the popcorn ready; the prohib’s Crazy Uncles are coming out of the belfries/looney-bins, and they’ll make even less sense than this loon did.
They make our work sooooooo easy…
You recognized that because they picked an opiate addicted alcoholic champion,,no doubt. We can’t just make that shit up.

It appears that New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo has decided to be a friend of essential liberty.
Gov. Cuomo Calls for Reform: Marijuana Arrests That ‘Stigmatize and Criminalize… Must End Now’
Said it in the Governors state of the State speech no less. Does that make him Glinda the good witch of the north? Put that in your pipe and smoke it Arizona Governor and Wicked Witch of the West Jan Brewer!! All of the flying monkeys in the world can’t stop this train.
Are you a good witch or a bad witch?
so is it true? Cliff Kincaid is a drag queen and his stage name is Linda Taylor?
a very nice rebuttal to David Frum, at CNN:

I’m on SSI total disability. Cannabis is a big part of my pain-managment as well as offering me a quality of life otherwise unattainable.
To have somebody call that a “bad choice,” is the fucking stupidist thing I’ve ever heard.
same here,,my pharm drugs are for blood pressure and heart,,everything else is cannabis,,eaten 3>4 times a week for arthritis and smoked daily for quality of life.
I just started a petition to allow liquor stores to sell marijuana if they stop selling alcohol.

After thinking about the problem of missing Mr. Kincaid overnight I’ve resolved to get my sorry self down to the firing range and work on correcting the problem. [drumroll] [rimshot]

Since the first Federal law criminalizing cannabis was installed by the most liberal Congess in history (both House & Senate), signed into law by our most liberal President ever, and the power of the Federal government to make these laws upheld by a SCOTUS precedent with 8 of 9 justices appointed by that same liberal President, I’d really like to know where the fuck people get the idea that the so called liberals are on our side of the table. In the alternative please have these clowns that dress in conservative drag and call themselves Republicans got the idea that prohibition is somehow their idea. [crickets] I admit that I do find them squealing in favor of a left wing law to be amusing. But I think that I can live without that amusement.
that 7 year old girl he mentions is a bit of a celebrity here in OR. Mykala Comstock is getting attention as is the news that cannabis fights cancer. Mykala was on Ricki Lake’s daytime show this past week:
