Sluts

A Staten Island politician called Lady Gaga a “slut” Monday for openly smoking what appeared to be marijuana at a recent concert, and following a day of outrage, repeated the slur on Tuesday.

“There’s Gaga. Here’s this, this, I would call her a slut. This slut is influencing many, many children,” Borough President James Molinaro said on Monday, according to the Staten Island Advance. “My niece has two daughters, 12 and 14, they love this woman. Why? Why? So we have a job to do with these actresses, these actors, these ball players. They use drugs as it’s nothing. We shouldn’t praise them. We shouldn’t honor them. We should really hit them….

To me, she’s not an actress, she’s a slut, in the pure word, in the pure meaning of the word.”

At the time of comments, Molinaro was pointing to photos of the not-actress lighting what appears to be a marijuana cigarette at an Amsterdam concert last week. The photos were displayed alongside a poster that said: “Stop glorifying drug use in the media.”

Oh, glorious, glorious. Yes. Obviously someone needs to get over something, but the singer seems to be enjoying her life, and the commenter sounds very unhappy. Perhaps Molinaro should hit and knock a little sense into himself. Maybe he’ll get over trying to control the uncontrollable, which is, like, everything in the universe beyond his own attitude. I presume he would accuse the Lady of cheap theatrics. It’s the old pot and kettle story now isn’t it? Yah, yah. (Her theatrics are fairly pricey actually.) 🙂

Settle down, Dad. The more you rage on, the more your girls will like Lady Gaga and the less respect they will have for you. Whether you like it or not, they are young women now and think and feel for themselves.

I agree that corporate cultural influences are unhealthy. But you’ve picked the wrong target – it’s about the greedy pandering to the lowest common denominator that’s the problem. As a politician, surely you get that?

I liked the one from the idiot that wrote that she just wants attention, as if that were something unusual for a person that aspires to be a pop culture icon. Yes silly, the desire for attention is an integral prerequisite of the personality for a person in her line of work.

On the other hand they might point out who she was before she was Lady Gaga. If they could pin her transformation on pot I might have to seriously consider that cannabis can in fact drive you mad.

No worries though, it’s obvious that it was greed that drove her ga ga. Arguably greed for attention, but still greed.

Actually, Lady Gaga is a genius when it comes to crafting the image of an absurdist pop star. It’s fairly groundbreaking, really, that a pop star isn’t stuck selling the same bs image we’ve been getting since madonna; it’s actually fresh for once.

But Shakira can perform and write in 3 languages, which is pretty talented.

Just kidding. Anyway who really cares what any prohibitionist thinks any more? The bigger question for activists is whether they are going to allow the government to monopolize Marijuana to Big Pharma or are we going to FINALLY stand up for our right to “grow our own.”

“The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it’s profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theatre.”

“Slut’ is a pejorative typically used against women to indicate sexual promiscuity, not marijuana smoking. “Slut” is always considered to have a sexist connotation. But then Borough President James Molinara overrules the obvious, ignores grammatically correct speech, and says “There’s males that are sluts too ….”

Not only is Molinara a bad grammar influence for his nieces, but he has offended Sluts United. The organization should be making a house call to Molinara’s Staten Island borough fairly soon.

OK boys and girls, just recently we learned that smoking pot is also a gateway drug to drinking alcohol. In today’s lesson we’re going to learn that some people think that other people who are fed Alice B Toklas cuisine without their permission or knowledge require “treatment.” This one belongs in the “from the sublime to the idiotic” category:

San Diego Bus Drivers who Unwittingly Ate Marijuana-Laced Brownies Cleared for Work

San Diego bus drivers placed on paid leave for refusing to take substance-abuse counseling and a non-driving position after unwittingly eating marijuana-laced brownies have been cleared to return to work Friday

No sir, you just can’t make shit like this up. Just when you think that the prohibitionist parasites have reached the outer limits of their fantasy land they just proceed to take it to a new level.

  14. Peter says:

I got polled by phone the other day. When they got to the question about for whom will I vote for president the only choices the poll gave were Romney and Obama, I got a bit irate, I told the pollster I would not be voting for either one of them, I would be voting for Gary Johnson and being as he is a legitimate and viable candidate for the position he should be included in ALL political polls concerning for whom we would vote and when alternate party candidates are not included it skews and invalidates the results of the poll. I finished with “and you can tell that to whomever commissioned this poll”.

back in the Nader days, the press always gave Ralph the occasional mention or interview. When Ross Perot ran he refused to be ignored.

Is it just me or is there a noticeable lack of recognition in the mainstream press for the Libertarian Johnson-Gray ticket? Could it be these two respectable gentleman really do have the money boyz worried?

        • Windy says:

Oh, I most fervently hope so, that means he has an actual chance at winning the popular vote. it only takes 34% of the vote to win in a three way race, if every one of the 52% of Americans who want to see an immediate end to the war on cannabis vote for him, even without the other demographics which might choose him over Obama or Romney (such as a goodly portion of the Ron Paul people) that is still a landslide win. If we keep talking about him on local radio talk shows and in person, writing about him everywhere including letters to the editor and comments to political articles on the web, we can make him familiar to the voters even if the major media will not. Also:
          Dear Fellow Libertarian,

For 4 solid months, the Republican Establishment Bullies have attacked and assaulted our Petition Drives to put our Libertarian candidates on the ballot in all 50 states plus D.C.

They smacked us and slammed us in Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

They must have mistaken us for chumps or wimps or victims. Big mistake.

We came out swinging. We whipped them in Iowa, Ohio, and Virginia.

Then we fought hard and dug deep in Pennsylvania – to prove that we had 20,600 valid signatures out of the 49,000 signatures we turned in (!) – and the Court ruled in our favor. We won. They’re appealing the Court’s decision.

That’s 48 states + D.C. for our Libertarian Presidential ticket – and more than 503 federal, state, and local Libertarian Party candidates.

96% of all Americans can vote for Libertarian Party candidates this November 6th – even if the Courts rule against us in Michigan and Oklahoma. Even if the Supreme Court refuses to right this wrong in the next two weeks.

          But that’s not all.

Our Libertarian Presidential Ticket – Gov. Gary Johnson and Judge Jim Gray – filed a federal Anti-Trust Lawsuit against the Commission on Presidential Debates, the Democratic Party, and the Republican Party – to compel them to include our Libertarian Presidential ticket in the upcoming nationally-televised Presidential debates.

The suit was filed in California federal court last Friday.

Judge Jim Gray is slated to give oral arguments showing the Debates Commission, Republicans, and Democrats are guilty of collusion, restraint of trade, and gross violation of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act.

Our proposed legal remedy? Include 2-Term Gov, Gary Johnson and 25-Year Superior Court Judge Jim Gray in all of the Presidential Debates.

This case could go all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.

PLUS, we just might have a few October Surprises for the Democrats and Republicans.

Our legal fights with the Republican bullies are bare-knuckle brawls. They’re fighting dirty. Trying to make us spend every last dollar of Libertarian Party money in the courts – instead of using it to advertise and publicize Libertarian Party campaigns and candidates.

          Don’t let them win.

We have only 38 days until Election Day.

This is the Moment of Truth for the Libertarian Party and all our candidates.

Our opportunity to reach millions of Americans with our Libertarian message.

Our chance to show Americans the powerful, persuasive reasons to vote Libertarian this November 6th.

We need your help now – to make certain the Libertarian Party CAN Keep Striking Back!

75 Years of Racial Control: Happy Birthday Marijuana Prohibition

    http://tinyurl.com/8gbhjhd

“There are 100,000 total marijuana smokers in the US, and most are Negroes, Hispanics, Filipinos and entertainers. Their Satanic music, jazz and swing, result from marijuana usage. This marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations with Negroes, entertainers and any others.”- Harry Anslinger, first Drug Czar.

As we approach the 75th anniversary of marijuana prohibition in the United States on October 1, it is important to remember why marijuana was deemed illicit in the first place, and why we as Americans must open our eyes to the insidious strategy behind 75 years of failed policy and ruined lives. Marijuana laws were designed not to control marijuana, but to control the Mexican immigrants who had brought this native plant with them to the U.S. Fears over loss of jobs and of the Mexicans themselves led cities to look for ways to keep a close eye on the newcomers.

In 1914, El Paso Texas became the first jurisdiction in the U.S. to ban the sale and possession of marijuana. This ban gave police the right to search, detain and question Mexican immigrants without reason, except the suspicion that they were in possession of marijuana.

Folklore started to erupt about the effect that marijuana had on those who used it. As Harry Anslinger stated, “Reefer makes darkies think they’re as good as white men.”

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOOOOOO YOOOOU

  22. Francis says:

    OT: But wow.

A chemist accused of lying about drug samples she tested at a state lab could face additional charges as prosecutors and defense attorneys sift through thousands of criminal cases that could be upended by her actions.

Annie Dookhan, 34, of Franklin, was arrested Friday in a burgeoning investigation that has already led to the shutdown of the lab, the resignation of the state’s public health commissioner and the release of more than a dozen drug defendants.

Many more defendants are expected to be released. Authorities say more than 1,100 inmates are serving time in cases in which Dookhan was the primary or secondary chemist.

Verner said Dookhan later acknowledged to state police that she sometimes would take 15 to 25 samples and instead of testing them all, she would test only five of them, then list them all as positive. She said that sometimes, if a sample tested negative, she would take known cocaine from another sample and add it to the negative sample to make it test positive for cocaine, Verner said.

The only motive authorities have found so far is that Dookhan wanted to be seen as a good worker, Coakley said.
