Had a great time at the Illinois State University Hemp Fest sponsored by Students for Sensible Drug Policy. Gave a talk on drug policy and had a wonderful discussion with a number of audience members afterward.
I also had some fun judging the tobacco-rolling competition. The winner was quite a creative work of art – designed to be lit in four places simultaneously.
For any new visitors to Drug WarRant who were there, welcome! Feel free to join in the discussion.
Is there a video of your presentation? I sure wouldn’t mind seeing it.
Hey, if anyone would like to help get another legalization initiative on the ballot this year, Oregon’s IP-24 campaign needs volunteers to help transcribe signed petition sheets into Excel spreadsheets (in order to check against the statewide voter database to determine whether signatures are valid or not).
The campaign has already gathered 90,000 raw signatures and has until July 6 to submit 116,000 valid signatures. If interested in helping out, send an email to csle.volunteers@gmail.com.
Welcome to the couch. You should feel right at home. Kick that empty pizza out of the way and have a seat. I believe it’s Duncan’s turn to pack one.
I did real good Friday,,I smoked at 3:20 so I was with the east coast, then at 4:20 with the rest of central, then at 5:20 with the Denver crowd and passed out after the 6:20 session with the hippies on Haight-Ashbury.
We applied to a the firm of X Corp, and part of the process was a mandatory survey of multiple choice questions, some of which seem to pertain to drugs issues. For example 1 question was whether I agree that once weekly imbibing of the kind bud constitutes a major problem, and I answered in the disagree column. I thought that just parroting the line would encourage more demands to abrogate privacy, so honesty was the best policy in this instance. What is troubling is the non comprehension that the metabolites that are screened for are inert, unlike blood and breathalyzer screens. I went to the disagree column in that survey on that issue on 10 questions! And not one of the questions was about organizing issues. I didn’t dare mention it. It it is a pity that she and others submit to that Tidy-Bowl justice! The survey was 2 column 1-6 disagree 7-12 agree. So I hope to keep these compromises to a minimum.
