More of this, please

Travis Erbacher writes a letter.

Bill C-15’s biggest supporters are criminal gangs and drug kingpins. After struggling to find anybody who could provide evidence that mandatory minimums work, or that tougher sentences will catch high-level dealers, they gave up and decided on Fassbender as a witness.

Mr. Fassbender agrees with gangs on drug policy.

Mayor Fassbender clearly has no idea what he is talking about when it comes to drug policy or fighting criminal gangs. He states that an argument for tougher sentences is that gangs produce drugs. That is a great argument, but it is a key reason why we should NOT pass C-15, and instead legalize and regulate substance use.

If drugs were legalized, gangs could not profit off of them. Drug-dealing “turf” would be worthless, and there would be nothing to fight over. Users would buy their drugs from pharmacies, and gangs would go bankrupt.

Instead of advocating for a policy that will actually make our streets safer, Mayor Fassbender is doing the exact opposite.

If we can do more of this — letting people know that their representatives are making their lives less safe by supporting prohibition, we’ll be on our way to eliminating the political fear of advocating for reform.

OK so we should “inform” our “representatives” of what any 3rd grader can find on the internet? Then, continue to pay them? With tax money while bridges fall down? These same “representatives” working for the prison complex really truly believe all that campaign money is cause they’re fine upstanding people? Now either they are complete lapdog fools selling out their children for corporate interest. Including people caging. Or just fools. I say we have a big recall and ask simple questions about Ganja Hemp and the Drug War. Weeding out the “representatives”. But I’d rather read that than prohibsquat.

    How to turn the conversation

There is not a topic that isn’t effected by the Ganjawar.
    Try to name one…

Humm…Kind of like…..Got some kids fighting over the same toy. Buy them all the toy and wheres the fight? Ya they should share, but drug dealers are no better than kids and a toy , just dangerous. At this point kids dont shoot each other over said toy.

Yeah, the Free Mexican Air Force is flyin’ tonight

In the Morenos Mountains campesinos are planting their fields
While the ghost of Zapata rides a horse that can still outrun the wind
While free in the sky high above, nearly clear out of sight
It’s the Free Mexican Air Force flyin’ tonight.
In the City of Angels a cowboy is cooling his heels
Remembering that God gave us herbs and the fruits of the fields
But a criminal law that makes outlaws of those seeking light
Made the Free Mexican Air Force, Mescalito riding his white horse —
Yeah the Free Mexican Air Force is flyin’ tonight!
(After every verse:) Flying so high – yi – hiyeeeee! …

How strange that an innocent herb causes money to burn
They’ll jail you or kill you for making those rich fat cats squirm.
They’re the fools who make rules with no difference between wrong and right
That’s why the Free Mexican Air Force is flyin’ tonight.
Uncle Sam in his misery put a Nix on the fields of (Herreros, Guerreros?)
Sayin’ shoot down all gringos and wetbacks who dare wear sombreros
Either run for your life, surrender, or stand up and fight —
Or join the Free Mexican Air Force, Mescalito riding his white horse,
Yeah the Free Mexican Air Force is flying tonight!

It is not marijuana destroying the minds of the young
But confusion continued for power and greed in all forms
Well, the borders of evil will fall to the smugglers of light
We’re the Free Mexican Air Force and we’re flyin’ tonight!
In San Antonio they tell me that power and money are one
They can buy us or sell you to keep you afraid, on the run
But no one can stop us! My vision is clearly in sight
And the Free Mexican Air Force,
    Mescalito riding his white horse,
Yeah the Free Mexican Air Force is flyin’ tonight

Some were smoking Colitas while other were loading their guns
Blowing smoke from their six-shooters, spinning their barrels for fun
    Contrabandistas, banditos alike —
We’re the Free Mexican Air Force and we’re flyin’ tonight.
High in the hills we are harvesting sweet sensemilla (?)
Yeah the law wants it all
’cause they know that the wild weed can free ya
And freedom for us is a prison for the rulers of might
That’s why the Free Mexican Air Force —
Mescalito riding his white horse —
Yeah, the Free Mexican Air Force is flyin’ tonight
Flyin’ so high- yi- yee…Flyin’ tonight!

Short, spare and to-the-point…and it doesn’t hurt to slap a silly fool who’s paid on the taxpayer’s dime upside the head for publicly blathering nonsense, as it might give other such fools some pause before opening their own biscuit-traps.

Cut-and-paste politics, like cut-and-paste ‘journalism’, will not work in the age of the Internet, and the sooner office-seekers figure that out, the better. They can no longer depend upon the previous (biased) sources of information, but must look farther than the nearest police blotter…or risk public humiliation when their opponents do.

Wendy, I read lyrics of a parody version changing mexican to alien air force. Politically correct? It used to be the local radio station K-FAT theme song. Then they became K-PIG online and changed it. I like to play it occasionally with Buffy Sainte-Marie just to keep the juices flowing. Now Mescalito is called a “Cartel” Buzzwords suck. Here’s a few Lyrics

    He’s five foot-two, and he’s six feet-four,
He fights with missiles and with spears.
He’s all of thirty-one, and he’s only seventeen,
Been a soldier for a thousand years.

    He’a a Catholic, a Hindu, an Atheist, a Jain,
A Buddhist and a Baptist and a Jew.
And he knows he shouldn’t kill,
And he knows he always will,
Kill you for me my friend and me for you.

    And he’s fighting for Canada,
    He’s fighting for France,
    He’s fighting for the USA,
And he’s fighting for the Russians,
    And he’s fighting for Japan,
And he thinks we’ll put an end to war this way.

    And he’s fighting for Democracy,
    He’s fighting for the Reds,
He says it’s for the peace of all.
He’s the one who must decide,
Who’s to live and who’s to die,
And he never sees the writing on the wall.

    But without him,
How would Hitler have condemned him at Dachau?
Without him Caesar would have stood alone,
He’s the one who gives his body
As a weapon of the war,
And without him all this killing can’t go on.

He’s the Universal Soldier and he really is to blame,
His orders come from far away no more,
They come from here and there and you and me,
    And brothers can’t you see,
This is not the way we put the end to war.

  7. BruceM says:

The problem is that an argument that relies on one level of cause and effect will always trump and argument that relies on multiple levels of causation (i.e. “if A then B, and if B then C, and if C then D, so let’s do A since we want D”). It’s much easier for people to understand banning things that we’re told get in the way of acheiving “D” (and using tax breaks and tax dollars to subsidize those who we’re told are helping to acheive “D”).

Most people can’t understand how legalizing drugs/ending prohibition will reduce “drug-related” crime. They’ve been fed the notion of voodoo pharmacology since the early 1900s – bad drugs make good people do bad things by controlling their minds, so it makes sense that so many people see drug use as the direct cause of crime – “the drugs make them do it.” Moreover, to understand how ending prohibition will end the black market for drugs and thus bankrupt the criminal organizations who profit from that black market requires linking several chains of cause and effect (A then B then C then D). In a society where people are kept entertained by hour after hour of mindless singing, dancing, and cooking shows, you really can’t expect to win mass approval of any argument that requires more than one simple link of causation… and even then you have to explain in small words, with pretty pictures and ample invocation of “the children” why A supposedly causes B. If you can manage to get people to accept that A causes B (whether in fact it does or not is irrelevant), all you need to do is threaten the lives and well-being of “the children” by scaring people into wanting B (thus they will support doing A).

We need to keep these principles in mind as we try to influence public policy against a majority group with a 100 years’ head start.

If we could come up with a plasible, easy to understand explanation for how drug prohition causes something bad – and dead children – we’d be off to a good start.

“The children” will trump liberty, human rights, personal freedom, privacy, individuality and limited government every single time.

Will Foster is Free! He Walked Out of Prison in Oklahoma Today
Medical marijuana patient Will Foster is a free man. According to a phone call I just received from his partner, Susan Mueller, Foster was released on parole and walked out of prison in Oklahoma today.

K-PIG online always plays Alice’s Restaurant Massacre several times on Thanksgiving. I’m still not one much for celebrating specific days, everyday is a celebration. Unfortunately leaving the confines of “education” searching for reality I have clearly seen falsehoods perpetuating the Ganjawar. Along with the extracurricular search for Ganja truth one finds many truths not taught. Those specific days marked on the Calendar to “celebrate” have more times than not become products themselves. Tomorrow is probably one of the least commercial, but when it all boils down. What have we done? Tomorrow should remind us of Peace and giving Thanks for the blessings and bounties of our great land. But mostly we owe thanks to a nation of people who got us through the first years of struggle. What have we done to them? We all owe it to ourselves to demand truth. To right the wrongs and learn from them so these atrocities won’t keep repeating. Tomorrow, on behalf of my ancestors, I’ll ask for forgiveness.
